Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve is on December 31, the final day of the Gregorian year, and the day before New Year's Day.

New Year's Eve is a separate observance from the observance of New Year's Day. In modern Western practice, New Year's Eve is celebrated with parties and social gatherings spanning the transition of the year at midnight.

Many cultures use fireworks and other forms of noise making in part of the celebration.

In the United States, New Year's Eve is a major social holiday.

In the past 100 years the "ball dropping" on top of One Times Square in New York City, broadcast to all of America (and rebroadcast in many other countries), is a major component of the New Year celebration.

The traditional time to make New Year's resolutions is New Year's Day. What are your plans for your business this year?

A New Year's resolution is a commitment that an individual makes to a project or the reforming of a habit, often a lifestyle change that is generally interpreted as advantageous. The name comes from the fact that these commitments normally go into effect on New Year's Day and remain until fulfilled or abandoned.

More socio-centric examples include resolutions to donate to the poor more often, to become more assertive, or to become more economically or environmentally responsible.

The Final Step in the 7 Step Sales Process for IT Solutions and Managed Services: Follow up

Sales Professional

Follow-up is the final step of the Seven Step Sales Process.  Whether selling IT solutions or Managed Services, proper follow-up is a simple activity that many sales professionals overlook, and as a result fail to realize the benefits of this important step. While the concept of following up on sales opportunities  should be a standard and automatic function for the Sales Professional; from the perspective of the 7 Step Sales Process, the follow-up occurs after the Prospect has signed an agreement or purchased a solution. While this is the easiest step of the sales process, many Sales Professionals miss cross-selling opportunities with existing clients due to a lack of proper follow-up.

The first and most important step to a powerful follow-up is to track and keep all client information updated and current in the organization's CRM (Client Relationship Management) or PSA (Professional Services Automation) solution. Using these tools to manage sales opportunities allows the sales professional to schedule and execute on specific time-sensitive tasks governed by their specific sales processes.
